Honorable President Met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of "Euronews"

On February 27, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Euronews" television company, Pedro Vargas David.

Expressing gratitude to the head of state for his time, the guest emphasized the significance of Turkmenistan’s achievements in all spheres, including on the international stage. Pedro Vargas David also noted that the magnificent white-marble Ashgabat left a pleasant impression on him.

As highlighted during the meeting, active cooperation has been established with mass media and international news agencies of various countries to enhance Turkmenistan’s global prestige. In this regard, the positive experience of fruitful cooperation with "Euronews," one of Europe's leading media organizations, was noted.

Speaking about bilateral contacts with this television company, the head of state emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in such areas as the promotion of Turkmenistan’s cultural and historical heritage worldwide and the development of tourism.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also specifically highlighted the great tourism potential of Turkmenistan. As is well known, the country is renowned for its rich national heritage and historical monuments.

Turkmenistan is one of the world's oldest cultural centers and today possesses vast opportunities for the development of the tourism sector.

The country is rich not only in historical landmarks but also in stunning natural landscapes. The National Tourist Zone "Avaza," the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains, and the Karakum Desert offer significant opportunities for tourism development.

In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan noted that films about Turkmenistan are broadcast in special programs on "Euronews."

– As is known, on Turkmenistan's initiative, a special UN General Assembly Resolution has declared 2025 the "International Year of Peace and Trust." Additionally, this year, we will widely celebrate the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality, – the head of state emphasized, inviting Pedro Vargas David to the International Forum on Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025. The President expressed confidence that his participation would contribute to the successful conduct of this event.

Additionally, the meeting discussed key issues on the international agenda and cooperation projects, both completed and future ones.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to further developing mutually beneficial relations with "Euronews" and wished Pedro Vargas David great success in his responsible work.
