Hero-Arkadag Held a Telephone Conversation with the Emir of the State of Qatar

On March 3, a telephone conversation took place between the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

First and foremost, Hero-Arkadag and the Emir of Qatar congratulated each other and the friendly peoples of both countries on the beginning of the holy month of Oraza. They expressed their wishes that fasting, prayers, and good deeds performed during this blessed month be accepted by the Almighty.

Hero-Arkadag emphasized that Turkmenistan highly values the relations established with the State of Qatar in recent years and attaches great importance to their expansion in all priority areas. He also expressed sincere gratitude to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani for his contribution to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

The Emir of Qatar highlighted the significance of Hero-Arkadag’s multifaceted efforts in strengthening traditionally friendly interstate relations. He also took the opportunity to extend his greetings and best wishes to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

As noted during the conversation, Turkmenistan and Qatar successfully cooperate both bilaterally and within international organizations. A vivid example of this is the mutual support for initiatives and proposals put forward by both countries within authoritative international institutions.

Trade and economic relations are a key area of interstate cooperation.

In this regard, Hero-Arkadag emphasized the prospects for Turkmen-Qatari cooperation in sectors such as the oil and gas industry, chemical and textile industries, investment, transport, and trade. Confidence was expressed that, based on the existing potential and accumulated positive experience, mutually beneficial projects in these areas would be successfully implemented.

It was also noted that the peoples of Turkmenistan and Qatar share similarities in history, culture, traditions, customs, as well as spiritual and moral values. This serves as a solid foundation for the further development of bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

In this context, the National Leader of the Turkmen people reaffirmed Turkmenistan’s commitment to traditionally mutually beneficial relations with Qatar. He expressed confidence that the established interstate dialogue for the prosperity and well-being of both nations will continue to develop.

As is known, this year is a significant one for Turkmenistan. On Turkmenistan’s initiative, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a special resolution declaring 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust.

In this regard, work is underway to organize and hold various political events at a high level in cooperation with neighboring countries and international organizations. Hero-Arkadag stated that on December 12, 2025, an International Forum on Peace and Trust will be held in Ashgabat to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. The National Leader of the Turkmen people invited Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to participate in this international forum and the celebratory events, noting that his presence would contribute to their success.

At the conclusion of the telephone conversation, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, wished each other good health and success in their state activities for the prosperity and well-being of their brotherly nations.
