Thorough preparations are underway for the international conference titled "International Year of Peace and Trust: The Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development"

On March 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system, during which the results of work carried out in various sectors of the economy over the first two months of the current year were summarized, and a number of other issues related to the country’s life were discussed.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reported on the preparations for the international conference "International Year of Peace and Trust: The Role of Interregional Economic Cooperation in Ensuring Sustainable Development," which is scheduled to take place in Ashgabat on March 19 of this year.

It is expected that the upcoming forum will be attended by heads of government structures and major companies from foreign countries, international organizations, and financial institutions, as well as diplomatic missions accredited in Turkmenistan.

According to the draft preliminary program of this event, five thematic sessions are planned: "Geopolitical and Geoeconomic Significance of Energy, Transport, and Infrastructure Projects in Central and South Asia," "Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India Gas Pipeline: Economic, Organizational, and Legal Issues," "The Role and Importance of Constructing the Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan Power Transmission Line in Strengthening International Economic Cooperation," "Transport Connectivity in the Central and South Asia Regions: Development Projects," and "Participation of Financial Institutions in the Implementation of Economic Projects in Central and South Asia."

In addition, bilateral meetings in various formats are envisaged on the sidelines of the conference.

In this regard, a corresponding proposal was submitted for the consideration of the head of state.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that a series of international events dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust are planned in the country. Approving the submitted proposal, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister to properly prepare and conduct this international forum at a high level, which is intended to promote the development of interregional economic interaction in ensuring sustainable development.
