On March 20, in the city of Arkadag, the Vice President for Medical Activities of the Charity Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, O. Atabaeva, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Turkmenistan, Elizabeth Rood. The meeting emphasized the importance of the Foundation's work in the development of international relations.
During the meeting, O. Atabaeva spoke about the activities carried out by the Charity Foundation, noting that the Foundation’s primary focus is humanitarian work.
It was emphasized that based on these tasks, the work of the Foundation, established under the initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, has provided significant support to children in need of health restoration, including performing necessary medical operations.
It was also noted that the scope of the Charity Foundation's activities named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in providing assistance and support to children in neighboring countries and partner states is expanding.
The Ambassador of the United States to Turkmenistan, Elizabeth Rood, expressing her gratitude for the detailed briefing on the Foundation's activities, emphasized that such work deserves praise and wished for its continuation and further success.
The meeting highlighted that this year marks the fourth anniversary of the Foundation's establishment, and international events are planned to celebrate this milestone. A number of important issues were discussed in this regard.
As Elizabeth Rood noted, the United States supports the noble and humanitarian work carried out by the Charity Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and expressed readiness for joint efforts to promote it, including at the international level. The diplomat expressed confidence that this would contribute to the further successful development and enrichment of the relations between the two countries, based on mutual goodwill.
In this regard, O. Atabaeva emphasized that Hero-Arkadag had noted the appropriateness of the Foundation's collaboration with relevant structures and reputable international organizations, including the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).
The meeting also stressed the importance of the tasks outlined by the National Leader of the Turkmen people in this direction and expressed confidence that their implementation, alongside enhancing the Foundation's prestige on the international stage, would contribute to strengthening peace and the humanitarian principles inherent in the policy of permanent neutrality, which independent Turkmenistan steadfastly follows, as well as fostering the development of friendship and brotherhood.
The meeting emphasized that the implementation of this work in 2025, the "International Year of Peace and Trust," would have special significance.
