The Honorable President Reviewed the Work Carried Out in the Agro-Industrial Complex and Regions

On March 24, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahalliev and the hyakims of the velayats, during which issues related to the country's agricultural sector and ongoing work in the regions were discussed.

The first to speak was the hyakim of Ahal Velayat, T. Nurmyradov, who reported on the current seasonal activities in the region’s fields.

As reported, agricultural maintenance of wheat fields in the velayat is being carried out in accordance with agrotechnical standards, including mineral fertilization and irrigation during the growing season.

At the same time, the necessary steps are being taken to ensure the organized start and timely completion of the cotton sowing campaign within the established agrotechnical timeframes.

Additionally, mineral fertilization is being applied to fields planted with potatoes and vegetable crops.

In the region, contracts are being signed with silkworm cocoon producers, and corresponding measures are being taken to provide them with silkworm eggs.

Furthermore, the hyakim reported on the pace of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities, scheduled for commissioning this year within the framework of the President of Turkmenistan’s Program for Socio-Economic Development (2022–2028) and the National Program for Improving the Living Conditions of Rural, Settlement, and District Population Centers until 2028.

After hearing the report, the Head of State emphasized the importance of properly conducting seasonal agricultural campaigns and gave the hyakim a number of relevant instructions.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also instructed to ensure strict control over the quality and timely execution of construction work on various facilities scheduled to open in the velayat this year as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs.

Next, the hyakim of Balkan Velayat, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region.

It was reported that mineral fertilization and irrigation are currently being carried out on wheat-planted fields.

At the same time, preparations are underway for the cotton sowing campaign.

Fields planted with potatoes and vegetable crops are being maintained in accordance with agrotechnical standards.

As part of the upcoming silkworm cocoon production season, contracts are being signed with producers, storage sites for silkworm larvae are being prepared, and agricultural producers are being provided with silkworm eggs.

Additionally, progress was reported on the construction of various facilities scheduled for opening in the velayat this year under the President of Turkmenistan’s Program for Socio-Economic Development (2022–2028) and the National Rural Program.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that compliance with agrotechnical standards is a key factor in ensuring agricultural productivity and quality. In this regard, he instructed the hyakim to ensure that seasonal agricultural campaigns in the velayat are carried out at the proper level.

The Head of State also ordered strict control over the timely and proper implementation of the projects planned for the current year as part of the country’s socio-economic development programs.

Next, the hyakim of Dashoguz Velayat, D. Babaev, reported on the situation in the region.

In wheat fields, mineral fertilization and irrigation are being carried out.

The region is preparing for the cotton sowing campaign, which, with the blessing of the President of Turkmenistan, will begin on March 26.

Meanwhile, spring planting of potatoes, onions, and other vegetable crops continues in the velayat.

Measures are also being taken to ensure the high-quality and organized execution of the silkworm cocoon production season.

The hyakim also reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities in the velayat as part of the President of Turkmenistan’s Program for Socio-Economic Development (2022–2028) and the National Program for Improving Living Conditions in Rural, Settlement, and District Centers until 2028.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that strict adherence to agrotechnical norms is the main condition for achieving high agricultural yields, giving the hyakim specific instructions in this regard.

Next, the hakim of Lebap Velayat, M. Annanepesov, reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

It was reported that fields in the region are undergoing mineral fertilizer application and irrigation.

Necessary measures are being taken to ensure the organized planting of cotton. Agricultural machinery and equipment are fully prepared for the season, and cotton producers are provided with high-quality seeds.

Additionally, field maintenance for potato and onion crops is being carried out in accordance with agrotechnical standards.

Currently, measures are being implemented in the region to fulfill the tasks set by the President of Turkmenistan regarding the development of sericulture and the increase of cocoon production. These include contract agreements with leaseholders and preparations for reception points.

The regional administration head also reported on the pace of construction of social and industrial facilities scheduled for commissioning this year within the framework of the President of Turkmenistan’s Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program.

Furthermore, the maintenance of spring potatoes and vegetable crops continues in accordance with agrotechnical requirements.

As part of preparations for the cocoon production season, work is underway to sign contracts with leaseholders, provide them with silkworm eggs, and prepare reception points.

To successfully meet the cocoon production plan and provide the country’s specialized enterprises with raw materials, necessary measures are currently being taken in the velayats to procure silkworm eggs and sign contracts with cocoon producers.

Summarizing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that compliance with agrotechnical standards in agricultural activities contributes to high yields, improved product quality, and the sustainable development of the industry. In this regard, he instructed the vice-premier to oversee the implementation of activities conducted on the country’s agricultural lands.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the head of state instructed to thoroughly prepare in the velayats for the celebrations marking the beginning of cotton sowing on March 26 of this year, ensure the second application of mineral fertilizers and irrigation on wheat-planted fields in accordance with agrotechnical requirements, and take timely measures to combat weeds and pests.

Additionally, instructions were given to accelerate the pace of sowing spring potatoes and vegetables, to strictly control the maintenance of these crops according to agrotechnical standards, to ensure timely settlements for work completed between cotton and wheat producers and the service organizations and enterprises of the regions, and to properly prepare for the cocoon production season.

The President of Turkmenistan ordered to ensure control over compliance with deadlines and the proper execution of scheduled work in the regions this year, in accordance with the President of Turkmenistan’s Socio-Economic Development Program for 2022–2028 and the National Rural Program.

Concluding the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished the participants good health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
