From March 21 to March 29, 2025, India hosts the Youth Forum of Central Asia and India, which is attended by a delegation of youth from Turkmenistan. The event is organized in accordance with the agreements reached at the first India–Central Asia Summit, held on January 27, 2022 at the initiative of the Prime Minister of India. The Forum has become an important part of joint efforts to strengthen youth cooperation and promote cultural exchange between the countries of the region.
The Forum, which is being held for the third time, is aimed at deepening cooperation between young leaders of Central Asia and India, supporting educational, cultural and innovative initiatives. Delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are taking part in a rich program covering both business meetings and cultural events.
The Turkmen youth delegation is actively involved in the work of the forum, presenting modern views, initiatives and ideas for the development of regional cooperation. The participants visited a number of iconic places in Goa, including Fort Aguada and the Basilica of Bom Jesus, and also met with volunteers from the Indian youth movement MY BHARAT. An important part was communication with the Governor of Goa and participation in a river walk along the Mandovi River.
In New Delhi, the Turkmen delegation visited the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), where they got acquainted with advanced approaches to engineering education, digital technologies and startup culture. Of particular importance was the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, during which the prospects for expanding youth exchange and implementing joint projects were discussed.
One of the highlights was the participation in the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue forum, where delegates presented their ideas, exchanged experiences with youth leaders from other countries, and participated in a cultural program and gala dinner.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in this international forum brings significant benefits both for the youth and for the country as a whole. Delegates have a unique opportunity to broaden their horizons, get acquainted with the best educational and innovative practices, and establish direct contacts with active youth in India and the countries of the region.
The Forum promotes the professional development of youth leaders, the formation of international relations, as well as the popularization of Turkmen culture on the world stage. Through such events, Turkmenistan strengthens its image as an open, peace-loving country focused on the development of youth diplomacy and constructive dialogue.
The cultural exchange that took place within the framework of the forum played an important role in bringing peoples closer together: Turkmen participants took part in national performances and visited iconic symbols of Indian culture, including the Taj Mahal.
The members of the Turkmen delegation express their deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, for the comprehensive support provided to youth initiatives, the opening of new horizons for international cooperation and the creation of conditions for the comprehensive development of youth.
Special thanks are also expressed to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, whose strategy in the field of humanitarian development and strengthening friendship between peoples serves as a solid foundation for such significant initiatives.
The Youth Forum of Central Asia and India continues, and there are many more events ahead aimed at developing trust, friendship and joint initiatives between the younger generations of our countries.
