Wishing success in the upcoming meetings, which will provide an opportunity to align perspectives on pressing issues of regional and international policy, the head of state expressed conviction that the outcomes of these negotiations would give new impetus to the development of relations not only bilaterally but also in a multilateral format.
“Turkmenistan attaches great importance to strengthening bilateral relations with the Republic of Uzbekistan, which are based on the strong bonds of good-neighborliness tested by time,” emphasized President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
As noted, the high level of mutual trust and openness inherent in our interstate dialogue serves as a key factor in fostering constructive partnership.
Our countries successfully cooperate within the framework of the United Nations and several other international and regional organizations, as evidenced by the mutual support for each other’s initiatives and proposals.
In the context of expanding the interaction of Central Asian countries in a multilateral format, the importance of the upcoming first "Central Asia–European Union" summit in Samarkand was underscored.
An important topic of discussion was also the prospects for further enhancing traditional partnership in several priority areas of mutual interest.
As is well known, in the multifaceted cooperation being built on a long-term basis, a special place is given to trade and economic ties. Bilateral trade turnover demonstrates positive dynamics, and interaction in the fuel and energy, transport and logistics, and agricultural sectors is actively expanding.
Continuing the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan and the head of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry noted with satisfaction that bilateral contacts in the cultural, scientific, and educational fields are successfully developing, serving as a bridge for bringing our fraternal peoples closer together and strengthening the centuries-old friendship and good-neighborliness between them.
As the head of state emphasized, Turkmenistan intends to continue strengthening and expanding its strategic partnership with the Republic of Uzbekistan for the benefit of our two fraternal peoples.
At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, wished each other good health, well-being, and further success in their work, expressing firm confidence in the continued progressive development of interstate relations on both bilateral and multilateral bases.
