Nowruz is a wonderful holiday celebrated in Eastern countries that marks the beginning of the new year and the arrival of spring. Nowruz was included in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on September 30, 2009, a designation achieved with the support of 24 countries. Further international recognition followed in February 2010 when, through the collaborative efforts and initiative of Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iran, and Tajikistan, the UN proclaimed March 21 as International Nowruz Day.
The International Nowruz holiday is celebrated in fraternal countries including Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, the Caucasus countries, Tatarstan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. This widely celebrated international holiday strengthens peace, humanity, and friendly relations among nations, while also honoring the historical and cultural traditions of Eastern peoples.
To celebrate the National Spring Holiday - International Nowruz Day, the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan hosted a musical and festive event titled "Nowruz has come to the world" in the Turkmen steppe.
The event was attended by university faculty and students. During the celebration, singers and the "Oguzlar" creative group's dance groupe from the Oguz han Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan presented folklore performances.
