Ceremonies for the Opening of Modern Water Purification and Sewage Treatment Facilities Took Place in the Country

On March 28, ceremonies marking the opening of modern water purification facilities and sewage treatment structures were held in the Ahal, Balkan, Lebap, and Mary Velayats of the country. The events were attended by heads of local self-government bodies, respected elders, and numerous residents of the velayats.

Ensuring the population’s access to clean drinking water has been identified as one of the key objectives within the large-scale transformation programs initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

In recent years, as part of the "Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022–2028" and the "National Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Transformation of Social and Living Conditions of the Population of Villages, Towns, Cities of Etraps, and Etrap Centers until 2028," modern water purification facilities equipped with cutting-edge technology from leading global manufacturers have been regularly commissioned across all regions of the country.

During the opening ceremonies of the water management facilities, inspiring song and music performances by masters of the arts from the velayats took place.

Participants of the celebrations proudly noted that the modern water facilities became a wonderful gift to the people in the International Year of Peace and Trust, marked by the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality. Sincere gratitude was also expressed to Arkadagly Hero Serdar and Hero-Arkadag for the regular construction and commissioning of facilities and buildings that enhance the social and living standards of the population in the country’s regions.

The participants of the events familiarized themselves with the operations of the new facilities, their capacities, and the capabilities of modern technologies.

At the sewage treatment facility with a daily capacity of 10,000 cubic meters, located in the Kaahka Etrap of Ahal Velayat, advanced equipment has been installed to promote rational water use. The opening of this new complex became a splendid gift to the residents of the Dushak settlement in this etrap and the surrounding villages.

The water intake complex with first- and second-lift pumping stations, commissioned in the city of Kyzylarvat in the Kyzylarvat Etrap of Balkan Velayat, is designed to purify 30,000 cubic meters of water per day. It includes an administrative building where the complex’s operations are managed using modern technologies, as well as a laboratory that continuously monitors water composition. Covering an area of 4.5 hectares, the facility features technical premises, reservoirs for drinking and technical water for firefighting, pools, water supply, and distribution systems.

The complex commissioned in the Dovletli settlement of the Khojambaz Etrap in Lebap Velayat can purify 5,000 cubic meters of sewage per day. Situated on approximately 2.5 hectares, it is equipped with modern technology that ensures high-quality sewage treatment and its reuse for agricultural purposes, which is significant for the rational use of water resources. The facility’s operations are monitored via a computer system.

The opening ceremony of a drinking water purification facility with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters in the Takhtabazar Etrap of Mary Velayat was also attended by a large crowd. At this new facility, water drawn from underground sources is purified and continuously supplied to the population of the city of Serhetabat and nearby villages. The complex includes an administrative building and a technical premises.

The conditions created at the water management facilities commissioned in the country’s regions meet the high standards required in the water sector for supplying the population with drinking water. The adjacent territories have been landscaped, with tree saplings planted. These facilities, in addition to providing the population with clean drinking water, contribute to the creation of new jobs.

It should be particularly noted that all the water purification facilities and structures opened today were built by individual developers. This indicates that representatives of the private sector are actively participating in the implementation of the country’s socio-economic development programs. Currently, domestic construction companies are entrusted with large-scale projects, favorable conditions are being created for their work, and they are contributing to the prosperity of our state. During the events, distinguished builders were solemnly awarded commemorative gifts.

The commissioning of these new facilities has become yet another testament to the fact that our Motherland, under the leadership of the head of state, is confidently advancing toward new heights of progress for the sake of the prosperous and happy life of the people.
