As is known, according to the declaration signed by representatives of Turkmenistan and Romania in Ashgabat on July 22, 2009, Turkmen-Romanian cooperation is assigned a key role. Mutually beneficial cooperation is based, first of all, on the prospect of implementing joint projects in such areas as diversification of energy exports and their transportation routes, oil and gas production and transportation, renewable energy sources, and energy efficiency.
On March 31, 2025, as part of a working visit to Turkmenistan, a delegation headed by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Romania Pavel-Kasian Nitulescu met with the management and specialists of the Yagshigeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.
The rector of the university acquainted the guests with the structure of the higher education institution, its faculties and departments, areas of study, research and project work, achievements, as well as cooperation in the field of science and education with similar universities abroad, in particular with the University of Oil and Gas of Ploiesti in Romania and companies, a short video about the university was shown.
Then the floor was given to the head of the Romanian delegation, Pavel-Kasian Nitulescu. First, he introduced the members of the delegation and spoke about the goals of the delegation's working visit to Turkmenistan, and also spoke about the readiness of Romanian higher education institutions, as well as companies, to cooperate in related fields. A number of issues of cooperation in the chemical and petrochemical industries of Turkmenistan were discussed with the representative of the Romanian company "CHEMCOMPLEX" and proposals for the production of products in these areas were prepared.After the meeting, the Romanian delegation visited the university laboratories, research and training centers, and the geological museum.
On April 1, 2025, the Rector of the University took part in the eighth meeting of the Turkmen-Romanian working group, which took place at the Nebitgaz complex in Turkmenistan under the chairmanship of the State Secretary of the Ministry of Energy of Romania Pavel-Kasian Nitulescu.
