Hero-Arkadag Held a Meeting with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers

On March 2, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud.

The interlocutors warmly greeted each other and exchanged congratulations on the blessed month of Oraza, expressing their wishes that the fasts and prayers observed during this sacred period be accepted by the Almighty.

Taking the opportunity, the guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen People from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud noted that Saudi Arabia highly values Turkmenistan’s achievements in all areas and expressed admiration for the magnificent architectural appearance of Ashgabat and its blooming parks, which left a pleasant impression on him.

Hero-Arkadag expressed gratitude for the kind words and conveyed his best wishes in return to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and members of the royal family.

Wishing success for the current visit of the Minister of State of the friendly country, Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that its outcomes would contribute to the further expansion of the multifaceted Turkmen-Saudi cooperation.

During the meeting, it was noted that the intergovernmental relations between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are characterized by openness, mutual respect, and a high level of trust. Our countries effectively cooperate in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

Identifying the fuel and energy sector, trade, investment, transport and communications, the chemical and textile industries, and agriculture as promising areas of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the interlocutors emphasized the need to fully utilize the existing opportunities to strengthen interaction in these key areas.

It was acknowledged with satisfaction that our countries successfully cooperate not only on a bilateral basis but also within the framework of reputable international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

During the discussions, it was noted that the two countries share similar or closely aligned views on key issues of international politics, particularly regarding ensuring peace and security as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This creates favorable conditions for coordinated interaction between the two friendly nations on the international stage.

Additionally, the interlocutors highlighted broad opportunities for developing interparliamentary cooperation. It was mutually agreed that exchanging legislative experiences and establishing close ties between parliamentary representatives would contribute to the further advancement of established cooperation and enrich it with new content.

As a priority area of Turkmen-Saudi relations, Hero-Arkadag also identified cultural and humanitarian cooperation, reaffirming Turkmenistan’s readiness to implement specific initiatives aimed at bringing the two fraternal nations closer together.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and the Minister of State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Member of the Cabinet of Ministers, Emir Turki bin Mohammed Al Saud, exchanged mutual warm wishes, expressing confidence in the further successful development of the well-established and effective relations in the interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.
