Speaking at the first "Central Asia – European Union" Summit held in Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov praised the potential for cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union, identifying key areas of cooperation within this format as economy, investment, energy, transport, and trade.
“Turkmenistan is firmly committed to a serious energy dialogue with the EU at a new substantive level and is ready to take practical steps,” said the head of Turkmenistan, inviting European partners to engage in a focused discussion on opportunities for partnership in the field of renewable energy. At the same time, readiness was expressed to launch practical joint projects in the field of green energy and to explore prospects for cooperation in the use of wind and solar energy, as well as hydrogen energy.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov named the creation of the East–West and West–East transport and communication corridors as a key component of strategic cooperation, expressing readiness to provide the facilities of the Turkmenbashi seaport on the Caspian coast of Turkmenistan, as well as road infrastructure on the territory of our country, for the benefit of this project. Along with this, the importance of constructing underwater infrastructure in the Caspian Sea was noted.
