The eighth session of the seventh convocation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan was held in Ashgabat

At the session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, key legislative decisions aimed at modernizing the country's legal system were adopted.
In particular, a new version of the law "On the Court" was adopted, aimed at increasing the transparency and efficiency of the judicial process. Turkmenistan also joined the 1988 Protocol to the International Convention on the Marking of Plastic Explosives for the Purpose of Detection.
In addition, legislative acts were adopted that amend laws relating to commemorative medals, administrative procedures, road transport and migration policy.
Particular attention at the session was paid to hearing information from the Authorized Representative for Human Rights – the Ombudsman.
The adopted bills are of strategic importance for the further development of Turkmenistan and the strengthening of its legal framework.
