International cooperation in the development of higher education

On April 15-16, 2025, the 1st Expert Group Meeting on the Development of Higher Education in the Region of the Economic Cooperation Organization Member States was held in Islamabad, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, organized by the Economic Cooperation Organization, the Higher Education Commission of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Institute of Education of Economic Cooperation Organization. The meeting was attended by the representative of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, Hashyrov Berdinazar. Along with the representative of our country, the meeting was attended by representatives of all member states of the organization, as well as the representatives of international organizations located in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The main objective of this high-level meeting was to develop a roadmap for the development of higher education in the region of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization and a plan for 2025-2030 with the aim of achieving the internationalization of higher education in the region of the member states of the organization to achieve the set goals. The participants of this meeting exchanged views on the issues mentioned above, and these documents were unanimously supported by the participants of the meeting. As a result, relevant organizational work on the development of higher education within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization was launched.
