On April 16, 2025, the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University hosted the III Open International Internet Olympiad in Informatics with the participation of students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan and foreign countries

In accordance with the “Concept of development of digital education system in Turkmenistan and Its implementation plan” approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, as well as in order to implement the tasks set by President Arkadagli Hero Serdar on bringing up an educated, broad-minded young generation, attracting students to science, identifying talented young people, introducing innovations in the system of science and education and conducting independent monitoring of the quality of education, on April 16, 2025, the III Open International Internet Olympiad in Informatics among students of higher educational institutions of our country and foreign countries was held at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.
The III Open International Internet Olympiad on Informatics among students of higher educational institutions is evidence that digital education is being consistently introduced in Turkmenistan and our young people are confidently mastering innovative technologies.
The Opening ceremony of the III Open International Internet Olympiad in Informatics took place in the Main building of the University on April 16, 2025. At the Opening ceremony, the Rector of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University made a welcoming speech, and also the rectors of foreign universities congratulated the students-participants in the Olympiad and their supervisors via digital communication and wished them great success. The Opening ceremony was attended by the teachers and students of our university, as well as by students of foreign universities and their supervisors through digital communication.
A total of 555 students from 52 higher education institutions from 18 countries participated in the International Olympiad.
256 students from foreign countries, namely from the Federal Republic of Germany, Romania, Malaysia, Georgia, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tatarstan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan took part in the Olympiad in the online format.
The students from the I.Razzakov Kyrgyz State Technical University of the Kyrgyz Republic, National Polytechnic University of Armenia of the Republic of Armenia, Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P.Korolev of the Russian Federation, Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, Magtymguly State University of Turkmenistan and Institute of National Security of Turkmenistan distinguished and won prizes at the Olympiad.
The individual winners of the Olympiad were determined by the sum of the accumulated points calculated with the help of the national software developed by the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University. The Rector of the University solemnly presented the winners of the individual and team competition with Diplomas of I, II and III degree.
