A round table dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust was held in Astrakhan

With the participation of representatives of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation in the Astrakhan Museum-Reserve was held a round table dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.

Representatives of national cultural societies, scientific and creative communities, educational institutions, culture sphere, as well as historians and ethnographers, local historians, archivists, youth, the media, teachers of Magtymguly Fragi School and students from Turkmenistan attended the event entitled “Culture, customs and traditions of the Turkmen people”.

Issues of preserving and developing Turkmen folk culture in the context of interstate cultural and humanitarian cooperation, which plays an important role in developing relations between countries and strengthening friendly ties between peoples, were discussed during the round table. Reports on the traditions and life of Astrakhan Turkmens were presented.

The guests of the event were particularly interested in the exhibition, which revealed the culture and traditions of local Turkmen and other Turkic peoples. The exposition included art objects, elements of national clothing and jewelry.
