In the Revival of new era of powerful state, a number of activities are being carried out in our country, guided by the opportunities created by our esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar, in order to improve the quality of education of young people and prepare them to become professionals who will be able to succeed in their profession in the future. The scientific and practical conference “The Importance of a Musician’s Travels in the Study of Turkmen Culture” (dedicated to the 100th anniversary of V.A. Uspensky’s scientific visit to Turkmenistan), which took place on April 15, 2025 at the Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory, is also one of the modern events held within the framework of the program. It is also noteworthy that the scientific and practical conference is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the scientific visit of the scientist V.A. Uspensky, who was one of the first to study Turkmen music and musical art at a professional level and created a number of works.
This scientific-practical conference, held with the aim of deeply studying and scientifically presenting our thousand-year-old culture, literature and glorious history based on new theories, was attended by teachers and students of the conservatory, as well as a number of other educational institutions.
Among them are a teacher of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, candidate of art history Sahragul Janmammedova, head of the department of "Turkmen literature" of the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages Aygul Gurbanova, head of the department of "Russian language" of the same university Jeren Ilamanova, senior lecturer of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan Maya Utomysheva and others. The scientific reports of the guests who took part in the conference attracted with their diverse content and effective presentation. During the conference, participants presented interesting information and examples of the work that has been done to these days in the study of Turkmen culture and art at a scientific level, as well as the results of scientific research in this area by the great musicologist V.A. Uspensky.
The students studying in the specialty "Musicology" were impressed by the speech of the associate professor of the department of "Folk musical instruments" of the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory, candidate of art history M. Gapurov on the topic of "V. Uspensky and Turkmen musical folklore", the speech of the head of the department of "History of Music" B. Yakubova on the topic of "About songs created on the poems of Mollanepes in the collection of Turkmen music by V. Uspensky and V. Belyaev", as well as the speech of the senior lecturer of the same department R. Muhammedov on the topic of "Scientific views of V. Uspensky on the musical art of Merv".
It was especially interesting to see how scientific presentations were connected with music and fine arts, literature and other fields. The reports on the work of foreign citizens who visited our country at different times on scientific visits were distinguished by their content, including the work of the Russian musicologist V. Uspensky.
At the end of the conference, the participants expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to our scientist Arkadag and our esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the opportunities they provide to study Turkmen art at a scientific level.
