On April 22, the friendly visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan concluded.
On the second day of the visit, a meeting took place between the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, with the participation of members of the delegations of both countries.
During the meeting, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the Hero-Arkadag on the commencement of the International Year of Peace and Trust, emphasizing that Kazakhstan enthusiastically supported this personal initiative of the National Leader of the Turkmen people. He also stressed that he gladly accepted the Hero-Arkadag's invitation to participate in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, scheduled for December 12 in Ashgabat.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for the opening of monuments in Ashgabat to the outstanding Kazakh cultural figures – Kurmangazy and Abai.
Thanking for the kind words, the Hero-Arkadag expressed deep gratitude to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome and hospitality, and the favorable conditions created for the stay of the Turkmenistan delegation in the ancient city of Turkestan.
Taking this opportunity, the National Leader of the Turkmen people also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for confirming his participation in the International Forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, which will be held on December 12 in Ashgabat.
Taking the opportunity, the Hero-Arkadag also expressed gratitude for the support and co-sponsorship of the UN General Assembly Resolution "Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan," adopted on the initiative of our country on March 21, 2025. This is the third resolution dedicated to the international legal status of Turkmenistan's neutrality.
The energy sector was also identified among the priority vectors of partnership. As noted by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, last summer in Astana, agreements were reached at a principal level on conducting joint work in the oil and gas sphere. A significant step in their implementation was the signing, during the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ashgabat in October 2024, of several documents between major relevant structures of the two countries. Affirming Turkmenistan's readiness for their practical implementation, the Hero-Arkadag spoke about the need to give relevant instructions to the joint working group created to coordinate activities on advancing the project for the development of the next phase of the "Galkynysh" gas field and the supply of Turkmen natural gas to Kazakhstan.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people also named transport and communications as an important area of cooperation.
To further create favorable transport and transit conditions, the Hero-Arkadag also proposed considering the issue of enhancing comprehensive interaction between the ports of Turkmenbashi, Aktau, and Kuryk on the Caspian Sea.
Continuing the theme, the positive dynamics of growth in freight transport by road and rail were emphasized, particularly within the "North-South" corridor. In this regard, the Hero-Arkadag spoke in favor of creating new forms of cooperation, including through the establishment of a joint Turkmen-Kazakh transport and logistics company.
Intensifying the activities of the Turkmen-Kazakh Business Council and holding its meetings on a regular basis is seen as effective. The Council's latest meeting took place in March 2025 in Ashgabat.
Highlighting the fruitfulness of bilateral cultural and humanitarian interaction, the Hero-Arkadag noted that representatives of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan actively participate in international conferences, exhibitions, and other events held in both countries.
Noting that cross-Cultural Days were organized last year in Astana and Ashgabat, the National Leader of the Turkmen people proposed continuing this good tradition.
In conclusion, thanking President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal contribution to strengthening friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Hero-Arkadag addressed best wishes to the fraternal people of the neighboring country.
Then the joint motorcade of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, and the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan proceeded to the industrial park "SPK TURKISTAN".
This large industrial site is a place for the implementation of regional investment projects. The goal of creating the industrial park is to form a harmonious production environment and effectively utilize the potential of the private sector economy. The "SPK TURKISTAN" project, which is being implemented in 2 stages, provides for the construction of industrial facilities, an administrative and amenities complex, and other relevant structures. Currently, a number of enterprises specializing in various industries are located here.
During the visit to the industrial park, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev familiarized themselves with an exhibition allowing to get a visual representation of the types of products manufactured here.
Passenger cars, tractors, combines, buses, and their components were presented in the open area.
Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of the Republic of Kazakhstan proceeded to the exhibition pavilion, where samples of industrial products intended for various sectors of the economy were demonstrated, including for the construction sector, agriculture, transport, etc., as well as products of the processing industry, medical equipment, computer and household appliances.
In the afternoon, the joint motorcade of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and the President of Kazakhstan proceeded to the Hazrat Sultan International Airport in the city of Turkestan.
Here, Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev warmly bid farewell to each other, reaffirming the commitment of the two countries and peoples to fraternal and good-neighborly relations, and fruitful multifaceted cooperation, meeting the interests of common well-being and prosperity.
Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag boarded the waiting aircraft, on which he departed for a friendly visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.
