Turkmen delegation, consisting of the lecturer of the International University for the Humanities and Development Habib Halmamedov, the lecturer of the Turkmen State Institute of Finance Shohrat Bashimov and the lecturer of the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management Arslan Matkarimov, is taking part in the conference “Strengthening University Collaboration Between Europe and Central Asia: Expanding Opportunities through Joint Programs, Research and Mobility”. The conference, which was attended by representatives of higher education institutions, national education authorities, National Erasmus+ Offices, international organizations and the expert community of the European Union and Central Asian countries, is being held in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek.
Key objectives of the conference are enhancing international collaboration skills: enabling participants to effectively establish and maintain international academic partnerships; modernization of curricula and programs: developing capacity for designing and implementing joint academic programs that meet both Central Asian and European accreditation standards; building research capacity: strengthen collaborative research initiatives, focusing on joint proposals, co-publications, and integration of innovative methodologies; improving teaching practices: introduce and reinforce innovative pedagogical approaches, including blended/hybrid learning, to enrich the quality of higher education in Central Asia; increasing student mobility and global competence: explore exchange programs and bilateral agreements that facilitate cost-effective international exposure, fostering sustainability and green skills: incorporating sustainable development themes and environmental awareness into academic programs and research projects.
The expected results are: enhanced international cooperation skills: modernization of the curriculum, building research capacity, improving teaching practices and pedagogy, strengthening institutional capacity for internationalization, developing environmental and sustainability skills: through joint research and educational initiatives.
The conference participants noted the need to maintain the achieved results of the projects and move to long-term strategic cooperation formats, and identified the following areas as priorities: joint educational programs, academic mobility and personnel sustainability, development of joint research initiatives, quality assurance and sustainability of programs, support for digitalization and innovative development. Following the international conference a corresponding resolution will be adopted.
