As part of the state policy for comprehensive development and improvement of the quality of the education system, conducted under the guidance of the President of Turkmenistan, a new textbook titled "German Language (II Foreign Language)" for the 12th grade has recently been released, as reported by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The textbook, authored by A. Yazberdieva, S. Nazarova, and M. Ataeva, consists of six chapters covering topics such as family, food and drinks, education in Turkmenistan and Germany, homeland and German-speaking countries, nature, and culture.
Particular attention in the textbook is given to the traditions and culture of Turkmenistan and German-speaking countries, healthy eating, the education system, economic development of both countries, as well as ecology and cultural heritage. The textbook contains colorful illustrations that correspond to the topics being studied.
The publication of this textbook is an important step in implementing several key documents adopted to modernize Turkmenistan's national education system. These include the Concept for the Transition to 12-Year General Secondary Education, the Concept for Improving Foreign Language Teaching, and the Concept for Enhancing Teaching Methods in General Education Programs by 2028.
The textbook aims to develop students' reading, writing, comprehension, and expression of personal opinions in German, as well as to study the interconnection of cultures and traditions within the framework of international relations.
