On April 23, 2025, a creative evening dedicated to the 105th anniversary of the birth of Hero of Turkmenistan Maya Kuliyeva, entitled “Our Heroine and dear Maya Eje” was held at the State library of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. The event was attended by lectures and students of the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University.

During the event, a competition of educational and musical games was organized. Teachers, students, and apprentices of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Hero of Turkmenistan Maya Kuliyeva presented opera scenes skillfully staged by directors, inspired in the past under the guidance of Maya Kuliyeva. Teachers and students from the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, as well as students from the Ashgabat Energy Secondary Vocational School of the Ministry of Energy of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, actively participated in the event.

When we speak about  Turkmen opera, Maya Kuliyeva immediately comes to mind; and when we speak of Maya Kuliyeva, we envision Turkmen opera. She was a person who made invaluable contributions to Turkmen art and truly reaped the blessings of her hard work.

Thinking about opera, we immediately remember the name of Maya Kuliyeva and it instantly evokes thoughts of opera in us. Maya Kuliyeva is a person who made an invaluable contribution to Turkmen art and her perseverance and tireless efforts were crowned with the successes of talented students.
