The marathon "Sport is the Guarantee of Peace and Trust" took place in the capital of Turkmenistan

May 4th, the marathon "Sport is the Guarantee of Peace and Trust" took place in the capital of Turkmenistan. This sporting event, initiated by the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs, was organized by the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports of Turkmenistan in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, the Youth Organization of Turkmenistan named after Magtymguly, and the Ashgabat City Administration.

Over 550 individuals participated in the sporting event. The youngest participant was 9 years old, and the oldest was 67 years old. In the early morning, more than 550 running enthusiasts, representatives from sports schools, metropolitan universities, the urban public, and youth gathered at the starting line of the marathon. The record holder of the "Sport is the Guarantee of Peace and Trust" marathon among male residents of the city was Serdar Saparov, who covered the distance of 3580 meters in 11 minutes and 52 seconds. The female winner was Valeriya Bayeva, who ran the same distance in 17 minutes and 15 seconds.

Furthermore, in the men's student category, the winner was Babaniyazov Pena, a 5th-year student at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, who completed the 3580-meter distance in 9 minutes and 22 seconds. The track record among female students was set by Esedova Enejan, a 5th-year student at the Yagshygeldi Kakayev International Oil and Gas University, who ran this distance in 14 minutes and 33 seconds.

Among the children, the top finishers were Orazmyradov Orazmyrat, a 7th-grade student from secondary school No. 74, and Seyidullayeva Aylar, a 6th-grade student from secondary school No. 76, who finished in 15 minutes and 49 seconds and 13 minutes and 12 seconds, respectively. The leaders in the absolute standings were awarded valuable prizes and certificates of merit. Additionally, musical performances created unforgettable impressions. It was an ideal setting for leisure, socializing with like-minded individuals, and experiencing positive emotions.

The primary objective of the marathon is to promote a healthy lifestyle, strengthen friendly and fraternal ties, and reinforce the foundations of the country's integrity and independence.
