The statement adopted at the Second Meeting of the Youth Dialogue of Central Asian Countries, held on 16 April 2025 at the UN Headquarters in New York, has been published as an official UN document under the symbol A/79/894–S/2025/255 in 6 languages.
The Statement emphasizes the demographic dividend in Central Asia, which is due to the fact that young people make up a significant part of the population in the region, and calls on them to use their opportunities to contribute to sustainable development, ecological cooperation, and the rational use of water resources.
The participants reaffirm their commitment to peace, sustainable development, and regional cooperation. They recognize the historic importance of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 and the crucial role of youth in peacebuilding and decision-making.
The statement highlights the significance of the UN's declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as Turkmenistan’s policy of neutrality in fostering regional stability. Central Asian youth express readiness to engage in environmental, digital, and social initiatives and contribute to upcoming global events, including the youth forum in Avaza in August 2025.
The event took place within the ECOSOC Youth Forum and marked the 10th anniversary of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on “Youth, Peace and Security.” Held under the theme “Voices of Youth for Peace and Trust,” it brought together delegations from 43 countries of the world.
Publication of Statement from Second Central Asian Youth Dialogue as Official UN Document serves as yet another affirmation of the effective implementation of Turkmenistan’s creative international initiatives.
