On the occasion of the Day of Workers of Culture, Art and Poetry Makhtumkuli Fragi, the Scientific Library of the Turkmen State University hosted a literary evening among teachers and students of the Turkmen State University dedicated to the life and work of one of the prominent representatives of the Turkmen classical literature of the XVIII century Gurbanali Magrupi, the educational significance of his poems.
At the literary evening, Aygul Allaberdieva, librarian of the first category of the University's Scientific Library, presented some information about the life of Gurbanali Magrupi.
The poet's full name is Gurbanali, and Magrupi is his nickname. As you know, Magrupi was from the Magrup tribe of Yemreli Turkmens. Magrupi was a tall man who traveled to many parts of Iran and Turan. Magrupi was the author of several lyrical poems and epics. Among them: "Yusup-Akhmet", "Seipelmelek-Medhaldzhemal", "Dovletyar-bek", "Aly-bek and Baly-bek".
The university students artistically recited the poet's poems and briefly performed them, expressing their love for the poet's work. This literary evening, held at the university's Scientific Library, was very effective for students who are deeply interested in the poet's work.
In addition, Gultach Sapardurdiyeva, librarian of the first category of the Scientific Library, noted in her speech: "Our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, by carefully organizing the study of our literary heritage in our country, has created ample opportunities for our people to revive traditions and customs rooted in the depths of centuries, and preserve cultural and spiritual heritage in the hearts of people." The participants of the event also congratulated cultural and artistic figures on the Day of Poetry of Makhtumkuli Fragi, expressed their best wishes and gratitude to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, hero Arkadag and our Esteemed President, hero Arkadagly Serdar.
