As part of Turkmenistan’s ongoing efforts to modernize its education system and strengthen its material and technical infrastructure, the nation is making significant strides in elevating its academic standards. These initiatives, which were first launched by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero of Arkadag, and are now being carried forward under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, are key priorities of the country’s state policy. Special emphasis is being placed on enhancing higher education, with the goal of preparing highly qualified professionals for various sectors of the national economy.
Under President Berdimuhamedov’s direction, Turkmenistan has amassed valuable experience in organizing international scientific conferences, exhibitions, competitions, and olympiads. These events are playing a vital role in strengthening and expanding global partnerships in education and science.
In line with the "Strategy for International Cooperation of Turkmen Youth for 2023-2030," approved by the President in June 2023, and the goals set out in various education reforms, a series of high-profile international academic events are scheduled for 2024, designated as the "Year of the Wisdom and Knowledge of Magtymguly Pyragy." These events include olympiads, competitions, and scientific-practical conferences organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
Among the upcoming events is an international online competition of scientific projects, "Agro-Innovations: The Bright Path to Sustainable Development," to be hosted by the Turkmen Agricultural Institute from October 16-17, 2024. These events are expected to draw participation from students, professors, and scholars from leading universities in Russia, the United States, China, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Austria, Germany, Romania, Turkey, Belarus, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and many others, in addition to Turkmenistan’s own institutions. Students excelling in these competitions will be awarded medals and diplomas, further underscoring the high level of talent emerging from Turkmenistan's education system.
To ensure the smooth organization of these international events, Turkmenistan's universities have prepared the necessary regulations, methodologies, and guidelines.
