Educational and awareness-raising events are being held at higher education institutions across Turkmenistan in preparation for the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), which will take place in the Avaza National Tourist Zone from August 4 to 8.
A training session for future volunteers was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event brought together representatives from several national universities—faculty and students from departments of foreign languages and journalism—many of whom are preparing to serve as volunteers during the upcoming Conference.
Presentations on the importance of the international forum were delivered by Professor Atajan Burunov, Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, and Begench Myatliyev, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. They highlighted the high level of ongoing preparations and spoke about the significance of the Conference's political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian activities.
A similar awareness session was held at Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, where participants discussed the objectives and tasks of the Conference, including the Ministerial Meeting on South-South Cooperation, the Women Leaders' Meeting, as well as forums for civil society, the private sector, parliamentarians, and youth.
Special attention was given to the organization of the reception of foreign delegations in line with international standards, as well as the role of cultural events in fostering intercultural communication and expanding humanitarian ties with participating countries.
