Turkmenistan to Host Large-Scale Events under its Chairmanship in the UN Programme

At the Cabinet of Ministers meeting held on July 25, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Khojamyrat Geldimyradov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the ongoing preparations for international events scheduled under Turkmenistan’s chairmanship in 2025 in the United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA).

According to the relevant plan, an Economic Forum, the 20th session of the Governing Council, sectoral working group meetings, and other events are planned to be held in Ashgabat in November–December of this year. The Ministry of Finance and Economy, together with Turkmenistan’s Permanent Mission to the UN Office in Geneva and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), is carrying out preparations for the “SPECA Days.” High-level representatives of the SPECA member states, UNECE, heads and delegates of other specialized bodies of the organization, as well as international experts, are expected to participate in the events.
