Students of Turkmenistan Actively Involved in Organizing Forum in Avaza

More than 300 students from higher education institutions across Turkmenistan are participating in preparations for the Forum of Landlocked Developing Countries, which will be held in the national tourist zone “Avaza.”

Volunteers were selected from universities throughout the country and are undergoing training for a variety of responsibilities. Their tasks will include interpreting, assisting delegations, providing protocol support, and working with the media.

Among the volunteers are students studying journalism. According to organizers, the forum offers them a unique opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice. The volunteers have also been trained to speak to the media in different languages.

The volunteer training took place throughout the academic year, following an approved curriculum. As part of the program, students studied the geography of landlocked countries, efforts toward sustainable development, international protocol, public speaking, and hosting foreign guests in accordance with national traditions.

The Ministry of Textile Industry of Turkmenistan has produced uniforms for all volunteers that meet modern standards. The designs reflect the national style and are tailored to the theme of the forum. Separate outfits have also been prepared for TV operators, medical staff, and other service personnel.

Last week, a special training session for the volunteers was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Some volunteers have already arrived in Avaza and are actively participating in on-site organizational activities.

The forum is being held as part of the preparation for the third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. Turkmenistan is preparing for the event at a high level, including the involvement of volunteers from the country's leading universities.
