Turkmenistan and the UN Office for Project Services discussed prospects for cooperation

On August 4, 2025, a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and the Director of the Multi-Country Office of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Austria Simonetta Siligato on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

During the meeting, the parties noted the effectiveness of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the UN Office for Project Services.

It was emphasized that Turkmenistan considers transport connectivity, sustainable infrastructure and environmental protection as key national priorities.

The parties discussed the implementation of current and future projects, in particular in the field of healthcare, development of transport infrastructure, water management and sustainable ecology, and others.

Simonetta Siligato expressed gratitude to the Turkmen side for the high level of organization of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) and wished it a successful outcome.

At the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the results of the forum will make a significant contribution to promoting the interests of landlocked countries and achieving sustainable development goals.

The parties confirmed their intention to continue active dialogue and expand cooperation within the framework of international and regional initiatives.
