Rabab Fatima spoke at the UN Conference on Landlocked Countries

At the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Countries (LLDC), Rabab Fatima, High Representative of the Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (OHRLLS), delivered a speech emphasizing that geography should not predetermine the fate of states. She noted that despite structural limitations, these countries have significant potential and resources.

In her speech, Rabab Fatima emphasized the importance of partnerships, digital and physical connectivity, and economic transformation to overcome barriers. Rabab Fatima announced the launch of the Awaza Agenda for Action, a strategic plan for the next decade that includes more than 320 projects.

The program pays special attention to freedom of transit, resilience to climate change and active involvement of the private sector.

In conclusion, Rabab Fatima called on the international community to take decisive action.
