The ambassadors of the Central Asian countries met with the Secretary General of the CISM, Captain of the Navy Roberto Recchia, at the headquarters of the International Military Sports Council (CISM) in Brussels. The participants discussed the activities of CISM, its initiatives and the participation of the countries of the region in international sports events.
The Secretary General stressed the importance of the active involvement of Central Asian countries in sports competitions and the desire of CISM to expand its activities to develop military sports and strengthen international relations.
Ambassador of Turkmenistan Sapar Palvanov noted the priority of sports in the national policy of the country, stressing the readiness to offer Turkmenistan as a venue for major international competitions, based on the successful experience of hosting the Asian Games in 2017.
Turkmen athletes, including military wrestlers, continue to participate in sports events in Uzbekistan, demonstrating a high level of training.
Turkmenistan expressed readiness for further cooperation with CISM and strengthening participation in international sports initiatives.
