Turkmenistan and Austria confirmed the effectiveness of the neutrality policy

On August 6, a meeting was held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the State Secretary of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria Joseph Schellhorn.
The interlocutors discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest, in particular partnership in the political, diplomatic, trade and economic spheres.
The diplomats pointed out the special significance and effectiveness of neutrality, which is the basis of the foreign policy of the two countries. In this context, they emphasized that this year coincided the anniversary dates, the 70th and 30th anniversaries of neutrality of Austria and Turkmenistan.
The parties also exchanged views on key aspects of the international agenda.
Recall that Austria hosted the Second UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries in 2014.
