Ambassador of Turkmenistan met with the Speaker of the Senate of Malaysia

On August 21, Ambassador of Turkmenistan Mukhammetniyaz Mashalov met with the Chairman of the Senate of Malaysia, Senator Dato Awang Bemee bin Awang Ali Basah in the building of the Parliament of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects of inter-parliamentary relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia were discussed. The parties emphasized the importance of inter-parliamentary cooperation in the development of political and diplomatic relations.

In this regard, the need to improve the activities of the parliamentary friendship groups of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Parliament of Malaysia was noted. The parties also discussed the possibility of organizing mutual visits of parliamentarians of the two countries and holding a meeting of the Turkmen-Malaysian parliamentary friendship groups.

The interlocutors noted the high level of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, and also expressed their readiness to further develop these relations on a long-term and mutually beneficial basis.
