An "ITALIAN LANGUAGE" textbook has been published for 9 th-grade students of general secondary (II foreign language)

In our country, necessary conditions are being created to improve the teaching of foreign languages, and special attention is given to this area. The study and teaching of languages is gaining wide importance. The development of science and education is considered a fundamental basis for the high-level future of the country and society.

Recently, the textbook “Italian Language (II Foreign Language)” for the 9th grade of general secondary schools was published (authors: Sh. Merdanova, K. Myradova, A. Babayeva – Ashgabat: State Publishing Service of Turkmenistan, 2025). This textbook fully complies with the approved curriculum for the subject.

The textbook consists of six units, each containing several lessons. The content of the lessons is aimed not only at teaching grammar, but also at introducing students to Turkmen society, nature, as well as Italian culture and everyday life. Grammar exercises are designed to reinforce the new texts. The texts have been prepared with consideration of students’ age characteristics. To develop speaking skills, free questions related to the topics are included. Various dialogues and role-play activities are provided to help students speak freely in Italian. To develop have writing skills, topic-related compositions are suggested as homework. To expand vocabulary, each topic introduces new words through different games.

The use of interactive methods for assignments helps students to learn Italian with interest, increases the effectiveness of the learning process, and further develops their skills in reading, writing, and speaking Italian fluently in the future.
