On September 12, 2024, a meeting took place between the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan and a delegation led by Sara Cooper, Head of the Regional Development Division of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
During the meeting, they discussed the progress made in enhancing the national education system of Turkmenistan, including the training of youth capable of managing a wide range of innovative technologies. They also highlighted the active study of positive international educational practices and the ongoing expansion of contacts with foreign educational and scientific centers.
The participants explored opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in education, specifically the implementation of professional training for English language teachers, the provision of professional development courses, and the establishment of IELTS exams in Turkmenistan.
The meeting resulted in the identification of priority areas for further development of Turkmen-British educational cooperation.
