President of Turkmenistan left for New York on a working visit

On September 21, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov departed for the United States on a working visit to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At the capital's International Airport, the head of state was seen off by government officials.

Turkmenistan, which pursues a foreign policy based on the principles of peace, positive neutrality, and broad international cooperation, is also actively developing effective relations within reputable international organizations. In this regard, great importance is attached to strategic interaction with the UN. The country's extensive experience allows it to take these multifaceted relations to a qualitatively new level.

This year—the International Year of Peace and Trust—is of paramount importance for our country and the entire international community, as it marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Turkmenistan's neutrality, officially recognized three times by the UN, is an important component of our country's foreign policy, based on the principles of peace, sustainable development, and cooperation, and serves as the foundation for expanding relations with all interested countries.

Turkmenistan actively promotes initiatives related to neutrality and peace within the UN. National Leader of the Turkmen People Hero Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov have repeatedly voiced positive proposals for strengthening peace and trust, speaking from the podium of the UN General Assembly.

The head of state's current working visit to New York, home to the UN headquarters, is a clear confirmation of our country's commitment to consistently strengthening and developing long-term and multifaceted relations.
