On September 25, 2025, a cultural and musical event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence was held at the Caspian Institute of Maritime and River Transport named after Admiral General F.M.Apraksin.
The celebration was attended by the Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, representatives of the Ministry of External Relations of the Astrakhan Region, as well as staff from the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Professors, students of the institute, and students from the Magtymguly Pyragy Secondary School in the village of Funtovo also took part.
During the event, Turkmenistan’s Consul G. Ilamanov delivered a speech highlighting the importance of the country's permanent neutrality, the achievements and progress made during the years of independence, as well as the significance of the latest session of Turkmenistan’s Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council). He also spoke about Turkmen-Russian cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and humanitarian affairs.
The cultural program continued with poetry readings, performances of Turkmen folk songs, and instrumental music on the dutar. The event concluded with the national Turkmen dance “Kushtdepdi.”
As part of the celebrations, the Consul of Turkmenistan and the Director of the Caspian Institute, O. Kartashova, held a meeting with Turkmen students, during which an educational discussion took place. The meeting provided detailed information about the state youth policy and the opportunities being created in the country for the development of young people.
