Turkmenistan and Tatarstan advocate for further strengthening of bilateral relations

On September 27, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived in our country to participate in the celebrations dedicated to Turkmenistan’s Independence Day.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the steady development of Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation. Both sides emphasized that the development of economic ties holds a special place on the agenda of multifaceted bilateral interaction. In this context, the important role of the Joint Turkmen-Tatarstan Working Group on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical, and Cultural Cooperation was highlighted.

At the same time, great importance is attached to the strengthening and expansion of humanitarian contacts, including in the field of science and education. Scientists, educators, and cultural figures, as well as delegations from both sides, actively participate in major international events held in Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.

The Head of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation noted the efforts of the President of Turkmenistan in developing friendly relations between the two peoples.

Hero-Arkadag expressed confidence that Rustam Minnikhanov’s current visit would give new impetus to the further development of Turkmen-Tatarstan cooperation and the strengthening of friendly relations between the two brotherly peoples.
