Cooperation with the National Library of the State of Qatar on Valuable Publications Related to the Rich History of the Turkmen People

On October 11, 2025, within the framework of the international exhibition and scientific conference “Health Care, Education and Sports in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State” the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, J.Gurbangeldiyev, met with the Executive Director of the National Library of the State of Qatar, Tan Huism. The Director of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, it was emphasized that the Turkmen and Qatari peoples share valuable historical, cultural, and literary monuments that date back to ancient times. Attention was drawn to the extensive efforts in Turkmenistan and Qatar to preserve material and spiritual heritage, promote national traditions and values, and develop library science.

It was recalled that during the 2024 visit of a Turkmen delegation headed by the Minister of Education to the State of Qatar, the delegation became acquainted with the activities of the National Library of Qatar and observed that ancient and valuable publications related to the Turkic world and the Turkmen people are carefully preserved there. In this regard, the Turkmen side expressed its interest in providing access to such publications for Turkmen higher educational institutions through modern digital technologies. This proposal received warm support from the Qatari delegation, which expressed its readiness for close cooperation.

It was noted that cooperation between Turkmenistan and the State of Qatar holds a special place among the Gulf countries, and both sides expressed their readiness to provide full support for the further strengthening of these relations.
