Knowledge is the origin of all progress. Concepts originating from the inherent logic of knowing, understanding, learning, and productive, sound reasoning help instill in the young generation loyalty to their heritage and homeland and encourage their participation in advancing work dedicated to the benefit of all humanity. In our country, the state implements comprehensive initiatives to cultivate educated and capable youth. The evidence of this can be clearly seen in the international subject competitions, exhibitions, and scientific conferences held in our country.
Recently, the textbook "General Biology" for the 11th grade of specialized schools providing in-depth teaching of natural science subjects within the general secondary education system has been published (authors: S.Durdyyev, Sh.Babanyyazova, M.Owlyakuliyeva, J.Welihanova — A.: Turkmen State Publishing Service, 2025). The information provided in the textbook is extremely valuable for a more profound study of the cellular structure, reproduction, and development of living organisms, the phenomena of heredity, the regular patterns of the evolution of the organic world on Earth, and the interrelationship between living bodies and the external environment.
The textbook consists of an introduction, 4 major chapters titled "Composition and Diversity of Living Nature," "The Cell – The Basic Structural Unit of Life," "Organic Substances Comprising the Chemical Composition of the Cell," "Reproduction and Development of Organisms," comprising 90 topics in total, along with relevant questions and tasks for each topic.
Turkmenistan's accession to UN conventions on Climate Change, Ozone Layer Protection, Combating Desertification, Conservation of Biodiversity, and other international conventions contributes to solving ecological problems on a global scale. Independent and Neutral Turkmenistan promotes ecological diplomacy as one of the priority directions of its foreign policy and makes a substantial contribution to strengthening international relations within the nature protection system. The extensive information presented in this textbook will significantly aid in understanding and studying these and other various issues related to biology.
