The Opening Ceremony of the IV International Chemistry Olympiad at Magtymguly Turkmen State University

Today, on October 15, the opening ceremony of the IV International Chemistry Olympiad was held at Magtymguly Turkmen State University.

The International Olympiad is attended by about 260 students who demonstratу excellent chemistry skills from higher education institutions of our country, as well as from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Tajikistan, Romania, and the Republic of Belarus. They will compete among themselves in individual competitions at levels A and B.

In particular, students, postgraduates, their supervisors and representatives from the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Kazan (Volga) Federal University, Novosibirsk National Research State University, Ufa State Oil Technological University, Institute of Man and Nature of the Ufa University of Science and Technology, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University, Northwest University of the People’s Republic of China, Xinjiang University, China University of Petroleum, International Astana University of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Eurasian University named after L.N. Gumilyov, Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, Kosar University in Bojnor, Azad Islamic University in Bojnor of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Baku Engineering University of the Republic of Azerbaijan, International Asian University of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Bukhara State University, Bukhara State Technical University, Karshi State University, Yerevan State University of the Republic of Armenia, Tajik National University of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ploieshti University of Oil and Gas of Romania, and Belarusian State University of the Republic of Belarus are participating.

Participants of the IV International Chemistry Olympiad and the international scientific and practical conference “The role of innovative technologies in improving chemistry teaching methods” held within its framework toured the exhibition of national applied and decorative arts exhibition dedicated to the achievements in the field of education and science, as well as the development of chemical technologies, on the porch of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, and listened with great interest to the songs of the dutar players of the university’s “Bagtyyarlyk Owazlary” cultural center praising our Prosperous Motherland, our national values, and Turkmen youth.

At the opening ceremony of the International Olympiad, professors, teachers, graduate students, and students of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Xinjiang University, B.B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University, Ferdowsi University in Mashhad, International Astana University, Yerevan State University, and Ploieshti Oil and Gas University delivered speeches. In their speeches, they emphasized the comprehensive cooperation with regional and international countries based on a policy of peace-loving and trust implemented by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the significant aspects of educational reforms being implemented based on world best practices, the introduction of international experience into the education system, and the raising of the quality of education to modern advanced levels through innovative technologies and multimedia means. It was also noted with great pride that today, with the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, a founding ceremony of the construction of a complex for the production of mineral fertilizers was held at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant in Turkmenabat.

It was also noted in the speeches that the modern conditions created for training high-level specialists in chemistry at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the provision of modern classrooms of the chemistry faculty and laboratories in various fields of chemistry with equipment manufactured by the world’s leading companies, the creation of all conditions for education and the study of science at the university play a great role in training specialists in the educational-scientific-production system.

The Olympiad is held in accordance with international standards, in the form of individual competitions at levels A and B, and professors, scientists, and specialists of our scientific and educational institutions, as well as professors, teachers, and scientists from foreign higher educational institutions, serve as judges, and foreign scholars participate as observers.

The opening ceremony of the International Olympiad continued with the performance of songs and dances of the friendly and brotherly Russian, Chinese, Iranian, Uzbek, Kazakh, Azerbaijani, Belarusian, Armenian, Romanian, and Tajik peoples by the singers of the university’s “Bagtyyarlyk Owazlary” cultural center, and the song glorifying our Prosperous Motherland and the national kushtdepdi dance of the Turkmen people made a unique impression on the participants. Likewise, at the end of the ceremony, the performance of the song “Gratifications to our Arkadagly Hero Serdar!”, which glorifies the significant work of our Esteemed President in the socio-economic development of the country during the New Era of the Revival of the Powerful State, further increased the festive atmosphere.

At the end of the opening ceremony of the International Olympiad, the participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and our Esteemed President of Turkmenistan for the ample opportunities created to hold the IV International Chemistry Olympiad.

Then, the participants of the ceremony toured the Historical Museum of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, Magtymguly Museum, and the Geology Museum. The historical values ​​displayed in the museums made a great impression on the guests.
