The textbook "GEOMETRY" for the 8th grade of specialized general education schools has been published

Under the leadership of our esteemed President, the Hero-Serdar, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, our Hero Arkadag, extensive work is being successfully carried out within the education system to realize large-scale reforms, cultivate talented youth, and provide them with modern, in-depth knowledge. Part of this work pertains to specialized schools with advanced instruction in mathematics within the general secondary education system.

Recently, the textbook "Geometry" for the 8th grade of specialized schools with advanced instruction in mathematics was published (authors: G. Shadurdyyev, B.Beknazarov, A. Sapargeldiyeva, M. Bashimov, M. Atanepesov, T. Shallyyev – A.: Turkmen State Publishing Service, 2025).

The textbook consists of 3 chapters: the first chapter titled "Relationships between the Sides and Angles of a Triangle," the second chapter "Quadrilaterals," and the third chapter "Areas of Figures."

The first chapter of the textbook covers information and problems on topics such as the theorem on the sum of angles in a triangle, the exterior angle of a triangle and its properties, relationships between the sides and angles of a triangle, the triangle inequality, certain properties of right triangles, criteria for congruence of right triangles, the distance from a point to a line, the distance between parallel lines, and constructing triangles given three elements.

The second chapter of the textbook presents information on topics including polygons, convex polygons, quadrilaterals, parallelograms and their properties, criteria for parallelograms, rectangles, rhombuses, squares and their properties, trapezoids, Thales' theorem, axial and central symmetry, and the use of symmetry in problem-solving.

The third chapter of the textbook dedicates significant space to topics such as the concept of the area of a polygon, areas of squares and rectangles, areas of parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids, the Pythagorean theorem, the converse of the Pythagorean theorem, and various proofs of the Pythagorean theorem.

The textbook provides exercises relevant to each described topic, as well as additional exercises at the end of each chapter; the answers to these are located at the end of the book.
