Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan discuss further strengthening of interstate dialogue

On October 17, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Galymzhan Koishybayev.

The guest emphasized that Kazakhstan highly values the traditionally friendly relations with Turkmenistan, whose foreign policy is based on the status of permanent neutrality and plays a significant role in strengthening peace and sustainable development in the region.

The parties noted that trade and economic partnership holds a special place in the agenda of interstate dialogue. Cooperation in the transport and logistics sector, including the development of international corridors-especially in the North-South direction-contributes to its further strengthening.

Among the promising areas of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation, the sides identified digitalization, the improvement of infrastructure and innovation, the “green” economy, and environmental protection. The importance of expanding cultural and humanitarian dialogue was also emphasized.

On the same day, the Kazakh Vice Premier held a meeting with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. The parties discussed cooperation between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the political and diplomatic, trade and economic, and cultural and humanitarian spheres.

They also reviewed preparations for events scheduled to be held later this year with the participation of both countries, including the next meeting of the Turkmen-Kazakh Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific-Technical, and Cultural Cooperation.
