Diplomatic evening in Moscow celebrates Turkmenistan’s Neutrality

On October 17, a ceremonial reception was held at the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation to mark the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality, the International Year of Peace and Trust, the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, and the conclusion of the sports tournament "UN–80 Friendship Games."

In his address, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, Esen Aydogdyev, emphasized that Turkmenistan, adhering to the principles of Neutrality, consistently advocates for dialogue, cooperation, and the strengthening of peace. Today, the country makes a significant contribution to the global movement for security and sustainable development, reaffirming its commitment to the ideals of the United Nations.

It was noted that the "UN–80 Friendship Games" sports tournament, held from August 4 to October 12, 2025, was dedicated to these landmark events of 2025. A summary video showcasing the highlights of the tournament was presented to the attendees.

The event also featured traditional Turkmen music, and, in keeping with warm traditions, guests were treated to national Turkmen cuisine.

In honor of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality, a forum was also held in Geneva, serving as a large-scale platform for discussing neutrality as a strategic approach amid modern global challenges.

The Forum's program consisted of three sessions: "Neutrality in the Modern World – Diplomatic Approaches to Sustaining Stability and Trust", "The Economic Dimension of Neutrality – Its Role in Shaping the Investment Climate" and "Neutrality and Technology – Regulating Artificial Intelligence and Digital Security".

Participants emphasized that in the 21st century, neutrality is becoming an increasingly important tool for sustainable development, international dialogue, and trust.
