Books and libraries play a vital role in promoting the historical heritage of the Turkmen people among the younger generation. Today, science and education are being actively developed, and the most advanced modern teaching methods are being implemented. At the same time, the country’s library system is becoming more modernized, and book publishing is being continuously improved.
At the beginning of the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” our esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, signed a Resolution approving the “State Program for the Development of the Library System of Turkmenistan for 2025–2029.” This decision brought immense joy to all workers of the library sector. The State Program clearly defines all the tasks to be carried out within the library system and serves as a guiding document for our work.
In the library of Mary City Specialized Secondary School No. 23, which focuses on foreign languages, exemplary activities are being carried out to provide modern education and upbringing for the young generation. Following the State Program, the school regularly organizes book exhibitions, literary and artistic events, and reading sessions aimed at fostering a love of books among students. One such event was a recent literary and musical evening titled “International Year of Peace and Trust– An Era of Blooming Generations,” held with the participation of 10th–12th grade students.
During the event, students expressed their pride in the “International Year of Peace and Trust” and praised the progress of the Motherland through poems, songs, and performances such as “The Defender of the Motherland” and “The Lazy Girl.”
The regular organization of such events demonstrates the great importance of books — the torch of the world of knowledge — in human life and highlights the key role of libraries in inspiring young people to read.
We sincerely express our gratitude to our Head of State, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, and to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, for creating all the conditions necessary for the education and upbringing of the younger generation.
