Turkmenistan and Russia Hold Consultations on Countering Modern Challenges and Threats

On October 27, consultations on countering modern challenges and threats were held in Moscow between the foreign affairs agencies of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, with the participation of representatives from the relevant authorities of both countries.
The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov, while the Russian side was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Dmitry Lyubinsky.
During the consultations, the parties exchanged assessments of global and regional security threats at the current stage, including the situation in Afghanistan and Central Asia.
Acknowledging the effective cooperation within international organizations, the diplomats discussed Turkmen–Russian interaction in the field of security and countering new challenges and threats within multilateral frameworks.
Attention was also drawn to the importance of summarizing and analyzing best practices, as well as enhancing the capacity of government bodies authorized in the field of information security.
