President of Turkmenistan launches nationwide greening campaign

With the participation of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the autumn season of the nationwide tree-planting campaign began on November 8 in Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by the Chairperson of the Mejlis, Deputy Chairpersons of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads and representatives of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries, sectoral departments, diplomatic missions, and international organizations accredited in the country, as well as members of the general public.

Warmly greeting the participants of the ceremony, the President proceeded to a specially prepared area for the planting works. There, a representative of the younger generation asked Arkadagly Hero Serdar to give the official start to the greening campaign.

Planting a 12-year-old Turkmen juniper tree, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov officially launched the autumn greening season.

Following the example of the Head of State, participants began planting trees. The planting of saplings of various species, taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of the area, will help create green zones at the foothills.

At the conclusion of the campaign, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly bade farewell to the participants and departed from the site.

As part of the nationwide greening campaign, a total of 449,464 tree saplings were planted across the country. In addition, maintenance work was carried out on 1,997,775 trees, along with cleanup and landscaping of parks and forested areas.
