Turkmenistan is introducing a new electronic data exchange system based on “X-Road”

On November 12, in the city of Ashgabat, the XVIII international exhibition and scientific conference “Türkmentel – 2025,” as well as the international conference and exhibition “International Transit and Transport Corridors: Connectivity and Development – 2025,” began their work.

Mekan Meredov, a representative of the Interagency Electronic Communications Department of the state company “Türkmentelekom” under the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan, spoke with a correspondent of the electronic newspaper “Altyn Asyr” about the current state of the electronic data exchange system.

“As a representative of the Ministry of Communications, I would like to note that this year has been particularly significant for us. We have achieved important milestones in building an interconnected, reliable and modern e-government system. One of our key achievements in this direction is the newly created national data-exchange platform ‘X-Road’,” said Mr. Meredov.

As emphasized in the interview, this system is designed to securely transmit data in digital form between various agencies. It replaces paper-based documentation and covers numerous sectors such as healthcare, education, governmental and legal services.

With the development of the e-government system, citizens will be able to obtain necessary certificates and documents from various agencies through a single platform. The main goal of the system is to ensure the availability of digital public services and to enhance convenience for citizens.

Several ministries and sectoral agencies have already been connected to the platform. In the future, integration efforts are planned to be accelerated in order to expand the range of digital services for citizens. This indicates Turkmenistan’s readiness to advance to a new stage of digital transformation.
