The International Exhibition and Scientific Conference "Türkmentel-2025" and the International Conference and Exhibition "International Transport Corridors: Connectivity and Development – 2025" are taking place in Ashgabat from November 12 to 14.
During the forum, Doreen Bogdan Martin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), praised Turkmenistan's contribution to achieving a hyperconnected world.
"Turkmenistan has made significant progress in creating digital infrastructure. Turkmen specialists have launched the 5G communications standard in the modern smart city of Arkadag, which combines digital solutions and the latest advances in the technology industry," the head of the international organization noted.
Turning to the global agenda, the ITU Secretary-General commented that the current global action plan shows that significant financial resources and time are needed to eliminate the digital divide and achieve a hyperconnected world, approximately until 2030.
In this context, Doreen Martin placed particular emphasis on the effective role of the international forum "Türmentel 2025."
"We must continue to learn from each other; we must unite and build on each other's innovations. Such cooperation is always essential for achieving common goals. Therefore, we are deeply convinced that the "Türmentel 2025" forum is a truly international forum, serving as an excellent platform for us to consolidate and learn from each other," the ITU Secretary-General stated.
