The delegation of Turkmenistan is taking part in the international congress “Spiritual Heritage and Enlightenment in Central Asia” and other cultural and humanitarian forums organized within its framework in Tashkent, the capital of the Republic of Uzbekistan. These events are being held on 12–16 November this year as part of the Seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia.
The delegation of our country includes representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Academy of Sciences, relevant higher educational institutions, the Magtymguly Youth Organization, and the mass media.
In particular, within the framework of the international congress, the following events have been organized: the academic forum “Historical and Cultural Heritage of Central Asia: Shared Past — Shared Future”; the Central Asian Film Days and international conferences “Central Asia in Focus: Documentary Cinema, Cinematography and Cultural Memory”, “From Clay Tablets to Digital Archives: The Path of Central Asian Libraries”, “‘Culture’ TV Channels: New Formats for Promoting Cultural and Historical Heritage”; the youth forum “Youth and the Digital Era: From Ancient Manuscripts to Artificial Intelligence”; exhibitions of books and artworks by artists from Central Asian countries; and the forum of writers and poets of Central Asia.
Active participation is also being taken by the Head of the Youth Policy Department of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan. Such wide opportunities created for Turkmen youth to represent our country with dignity on the international stage are a testament to the high trust placed in them. During the events held within the framework of the congress, Turkmen representatives provided detailed information to the participants about the large-scale work being carried out in Turkmenistan in the field of youth policy, the measures aimed at fostering patriotism, respect for national heritage, and adherence to the noble traditions of ancestors, as well as efforts to develop international youth cooperation. They also spoke about prospects and opportunities for partnership in this field among the countries of the region.
It should be noted that in the era of rapid development of digital technologies, this forum dedicated to the role of youth serves as a platform for dialogue aimed at integrating the centuries-old wisdom of ancestors with the innovative opportunities of the modern age. In this context, it is worth noting that Turkmenistan is creating significant opportunities for young people. The year 2023 in our country was held under the motto “Happy Youth with Arkadagly Serdar”, and in the same year, the “Strategy for International Cooperation of Turkmenistan’s Youth for 2023–2030” was adopted. In addition, on the initiative of our country, international youth forums were successfully held in the city of Arkadag, in Mary Province, and in New York (USA). A vivid testament to the attention paid to youth was the youth forum held in August of this year in the “Awaza” National Tourist Zone within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
During the events held within the international congress in Tashkent, the significance of the current year — the International Year of Peace and Trust, marked by the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality — was also emphasized. Furthermore, Turkmenistan’s initiatives voiced on international platforms aimed at strengthening peace, trust, sustainable development, and finding balanced and constructive solutions to global challenges, including climate change, were highlighted. Special emphasis was placed on the important tasks of carefully transmitting the spiritual heritage, interconnected cultural treasures, and achievements of the region’s countries to the younger generation, and of fostering youth capable of deep thinking and finding effective solutions to the pressing issues of the modern era.
